Why Glooko?

I decided to join Glooko because I felt that I could use my skills to help people with diabetes and their health care providers

I previously worked as a Ruby on Rails developer and thought it was time for a change

During my search, I came across Glooko and thought it fit my skills well so I decided to apply

Things I do on a regular day at work

I generally work on backend development with the device integrations team

This involves integration with our partner’s devices via API, uploader or transmitter

Why Glooko?

There are two reasons why I joined Glooko

I enjoy working on meaningful products that can make a difference in people’s lives, and it doesn’t get much more meaningful than helping those with health-care needs

Having family members with diabetes, I know how difficult it can be for those who are ill and their caretakers, so working at Glooko is very meaningful

Second, Glooko’s goals align with mine

There is so much opportunity to improve collaboration between the provider and the patient that can make a difference in diabetes care

Things I do on a regular day at work

As a design researcher, most of my time is spent connecting with users, whether they use the product or not

I conduct one-on-one interviews with providers or patients to understand their routines and any problems they may be facing

I combine the interviews and find patterns that will help us make the product better for prospective and current users

Afterwards, I present those patterns or insights to the rest of Glooko to make sure we’re all connected with the user’s point of view

I also work closely with the design team, determining how the research insights influence design projects to ensure we’re crafting meaningful products for our users
